Holiday
Issue
It
is the time of year for giving thanks. I
would like to give a personal thank you to all my
clients, friends and family who have been a part of
the growth of Get It Together LA! the past four
years.
Helping
others achieve goals and become more productive is
the reason I enjoy my work. Thank you for allowing
me into your homes and offices this past year.
May this holiday season be the most joyous and
organized yet!

Cards

Sending
and Receiving
Hallmark
conducted a survey in 2002 and discovered
that 87% of consumers would not stop
sending cards over the holidays. It is an
important part of building relationships
we hold dear.
Review
last year's list and be sure contact
information has not changed. Then add your
new acquaintances from this past year. It
will be helpful to categorize the list by
friends, family, and business
associates.
When
you receive cards, confirm that you have
the sender's correct mailing address. You
might want to cross reference and be sure
you they will receive a card from you this
year. Display your cards and enjoy them
during the season. Remember, in January
cards become clutter and should be
discarded.
For
the rest of the year...
Keep
extra cards available for birthdays, Bar
Mitzvahs, anniversaries, etc. Have them
categorized in a container for easy
reference. In the front of the container
keep your "date list" categorized by the
months of the year. Keep stamps in the
container and you will be ready for any
occasion.

"When
I go to the warehouse store I come back
with so many of the same items. Where
should they all go?"
This
question was asked at a recent workshop.
The answer is to not waste your "prime
real estate". If you purchased a 10 pack
of clear tape, keep one at your desk and
store the others in your supply
area.
Have
supply areas throughout the home. Keep
extra bath supplies in the linen closet.
For can goods, a couple of cans can be
kept in the pantry while the extras can go
in out-of-the way cabinets.

Space
Planning is an Important
Consideration
|
|
|
|
There
are many ways to provide more room for
storage without tearing out walls. One of
the easiest is to bring dead space to
life. Does your storage room have only low
cabinets or shelves? Are you using
cabinets only because you have them and
not because they are needed?
Consider
the equipment (computers, copiers, faxes,
etc.) needed in the area and the items to
be stored (paper, coffee center, supplies)
and create a unified storage system that
utilizes vertical wall space. Having
multiple shelves will keep items from
being buried. Use plastic containers to
keep small items together such as rubber
bands and paper clips.
Measure,
and then measure again. Do not rely on
guess work. Draw your new ideas to scale
on paper. Proper planning will assure you
have room to grow.
