In
the Palm of Your Hand
Having
information at your fingertips is essential for any
organized person. I must admit I have been
reluctant to go digital with my calendar. I had all
the excuses. Writing, or typing, in a PDA would be
difficult. I did not want to learn new
technology.
This
week I started using a Palm TX handheld. I am still
learning, but I can see it is going to be
fantastic. By syncing with Outlook I always have a
backup should my handheld be lost. Now I have all
2,000 contacts at my fingertips. I have set
reminders for sending birthday and anniversary
cards. Not to mention that I am able to send and
receive email when I have a wireless connection.
And by downloading photos, I have an up-to-date
portfolio of design and organizing projects to show
clients.
All
this after just a few days of learning. If you have
thought about leaving your paper calendar behind,
check out what Palm
has to offer.

Project
for Organizing Cables
|
|

|
|
Tangled
cables under the desk not only create an
eyesore, but they also make cleaning and
dusting impossible. This is a project that
requires only plastic electricians ties
and just a little time to achieve the
desired results.
A
flashlight might come in handy and well as
old clothes should you need to get under
your desk to work. This is also a great
time to purchase longer cables for
printers or fax machines if you have
always wanted to place equipment further
from your CPU.
Turn
off the computer, then start untangling.
By going one cable at a time, disconnect
and straighen each cord. Then reconnect to
computer and untangle another. Any extra
slack can be gathered and placed beside
each cord. Group cables together in your
hand while still leaving enought slack as
not to short out a connection. Place
plastic ties around grouping.

Always
know what you are unplugging from your
power strip. By using masking tape or
simple key tags, mark each power cord you
will never accidently unplug your computer
and loose information.
